Selecting records in Dynodex lets you pull out and view a "select" group of records that have something particular in common. For example, you might want to select all your "contacts in California", or all your "friends and family".
If you need to select a certain group of records frequently, you can save the settings for that selection under the "Frequent Selections" pop-up menu. You don't have to re-choose the selection settings. Instead, just choose the selection from the pop-up menu and bypass the "Select Records" dialog.
For example, you might frequently need to select all your "contacts in California". Instead of doing a "Select" each time (which involves 3 or 4 steps and some typing), you could save the selection definition "California Contacts" in the "Frequent Selections" submenu. From now on, just choose "California Contacts" from "Frequent Finds", and Dynodex will go select that group of records.
You can store up to 128 different "Frequent Selections".
You can always delete one of your "Frequent Selections" by dragging to "Remove Items" (see instructions below).
To save a "Frequent Selection":
• Choose "Select Records", Cmd-R. Specify the selection settings for the group of records you want to select. (For the above example, you would choose Field 1: "State=CA".)
• Click on the "Add to Menu" button.
• Type whatever you want to call this group of records. (In the example above, you might call the selection "California Contacts".) Click "OK" to confirm it.
• Click "Cancel" to exit, or "Select" to proceed with the Selection.
To use a "Frequent Selection":
• Choose the "Frequent Selection" you need. Dynodex will select all the records that fit that description and display the first one of the group. If you have a list open, only the selected records will show in the list.
To remove a Frequent Selection:
• Choose "Remove Items" from "Frequent Selections".
• Click on the "Frequent Selection" you want to remove.
